Sarah Oquist is an inspiring coach who equips leaders to transform relationships, team dynamics, and workplace cultures. She empowers leaders to successfully address critical issues in the areas of leadership effectiveness, strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, operational management, and corporate governance. She partners with her clients to identify organizational solutions that align with their values and goals, creating pragmatic action steps that they can implement for sustainable change, and preparing them to facilitate critical conversations with more success and ease.

Leveraging her extensive C-level and board experience, Sarah views situations from multiple angles. She uses real language and shares real examples from her own experience. Clients leave coaching sessions feeling empowered to effect change with tools they can execute.

Sarah captures her clients with compelling lessons she has learned about how to create a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. Raised in a low-income family, Sarah believed even then that everybody should have access to success. After obtaining her law degree, she worked as a commercial finance attorney for Faegre Drinker, as the primary international lawyer for U.S. Bank, as Chief Executive Officer/Board Chair of ML Corporate Ventures d/b/a Grand Casinos, and as founding owner and Chief Operating Officer of a commercial litigation law firm. Her background, board director, and coaching experience has provided her familiarity with the inner workings of multiple industries including healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, transportation, legal, financial, real estate, arts, nonprofit, and academia.

An active contributor to the community, Sarah has served on numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards. She is currently the Board Chair for Woodlands National Bank and a Board Member for Management HQ. She also serves as Board Director, Officer and/or board committee chair for The Walker Art Center, Creighton University’s National Alumni Board, Artspace Projects, ClearWay Minnesota, and the American Indian Community Development Corporation.

Education and Credentials

Sarah received her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Creighton University and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Lyon College. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Executive Development Program in Critical Issues & Strategic Planning.

Sarah obtained coaching and leadership development certifications from the Co-Active Training Institute. She is also a graduate of ORSC, an organizational, relationships & systems-based coach training program, through the Center for Right Relationship. In addition, Sarah is certified in Gallup StrengthsFinder and The Leadership Circle Profile (360-degree leadership assessment).
